For those of you who aren’t electronically literate; software is a computer program that is engineered to execute specific chores. This is as opposed to hardware, which refers to the material computer parts and accessories.   Mobiletechaddicts.com goes Android. Our fist Android device is in the house and we’ve been playing with it for the last week. Here’s what we think. The HTC Hero is HTC’s third Android device following the T-Mobile G1 and Vodafone’s HTC Magic. Both of these devices are exclusive to the networks and in order to get one you have to take out a contract with the network. This photo of what is presumably the upcoming Sony 850 DSLR was spotted by Photo Rumors on an unnamed retail site. It looks exactly the same as the 900, but doesn’t really seem off on layout compared to the leaked 850 manual . The scary part is that the camera is listed for 1, 999 Euro (about $2, 833 US), so hopefully Sony is doing something a bit more wonderful under the hood than just those 900 downgrades that have been hinted at so far.

Did the 3rd generation iPod touch rumors take a turn to being credible? The Covino and Rich show blog posted what it claims to be 100% legitimate pictures of the next generation iPod touch. Whoever they are, they state that the images were sent in from a loyal listener and this is not some publicity stunt. Knowing the length to which radio show hosts will go to generate buzz, we are inclined to not believe them but the images and the video are at least intriguing enough to warrant a look.

I’ve been getting some emails and BBM messages asking where the links where, they are still up,  I had to move some of the files around on my server so some of the old links may not be valid, but here are the updated links plus a few more versions that have been floating around for some of the new 5.0 OSs. At first there where alot of bad reports but all versions seem to be working great after RIM switched on all the features. If your worried about losing your contacts, here’s a great tip from one of the commenter’s, not sure if it works but it’s worth the try.

A few weeks ago, Pasquale Castaldo was waiting at the Dallas-Fort Worth airport for a delayed flight, when a man sitting across from him pulled out an Amazon Kindle book-reading device. “Gee, maybe I should think about e-books myself,” Castaldo thought. He didn’t have a Kindle, but he did have a BlackBerry. He pulled it out and looked for available applications. Sure enough, Barnes & Noble Inc. had just put up an e-reading program.
