Besides the problem of batter, it seems that the Firmware 3.0 leads to a serious decline in the WiFi signal, which occurs both on and on 3GS iPhone 3G. Even in this case I have to say that with regard to the WiFi signal, my iPhone 3G does not have any problem. Battery problem was resolved by disabling Push Notification in Settings.

Oh, I can keep going: financial news aggregation, slideshow presentation, carrier lamentation, lyrical collect-ation, and… and… tethering? Seven out of eight ain’t bad. Anyway, enough of that—here’s your weekly app dump: Navigon Lite : Hark! Dedicated navigation units are dead, for the iPhone hath slain them ! Except no, not at all, because navigation apps are still fresh, imperfect, and too expensive to “just try.” Navigon’s Lite version, then, is a great idea: It lets users test the app’s routing power, nice UI, and Navteq mapset—all 1.29GB of it, taking up space on your phone.

Chris Barylick is a frequent contributor to Macworld. And today he posted a very good, detailed review about Baseball Slugger (iTunes link), game for the iPhone or iPod touch. Sometimes it’s the unexpected games that set the standard. With almost no hype or licensing excitement, Com2us’ Baseball Slugger: Home Run Race 3D has proven this point for the iPhone and iPod touch.

There are some great coupons in this book, including one for tires. And I’m really excited to see a coupon for the Langer’s Mango Nectar, mostly because this means that it’ll be back in the stores. Out of the 100 coupons, there seem to be a lot of cleaning supply coupons; I’m not sure why so many this time. In any case, there are a fair amount of the same types of coupons that we see routinely now, like vitamins and toothpaste, however, as always there are some new items that have coupons

Intel has “been working with Google ” on the search giant’s planned Chrome OS , according to a report today in The Inquirer , which goes on to herald the end of the Wintel (Intel PCs running the Windows OS) hegemony. My feeling is that such a proclamation may be a little premature given that Chrome won’t be shipping on consumer netbooks for another year, but I’ve emailed Intel to ask about its involvement anyhow.

iPhone 3.0 might have given Apple’s cell a much–needed tickle, with MMS, stereo Bluetooth and copy and paste amongst the basics added. Now though, the major upgrade is coming under sustained attack, after iPhone owners found their Wi–Fi coverage virtually nonexistent once they’d installed it. That means hopes are being pinned on a new fix from Apple. Online grumbles about iPhone 3.0 have gone from a smattering of quiet mutterings to a crescendo of geeky outrage in just a few short weeks.

We probably shouldn’t be surprised, but AT&T have reportedly delayed the activation of MMS for the iPhone until September. According to Appmodo, AT&T themselves suggested that the originally tipped date of mid-July would be missed; they’ve now heard that in fact MMS will come three months after Apple enabled the feature in iPhone OS 3.0. MMS will be accompanied by iPhone tethering, it’s believed, which Appmodo insist is still expected to cost an extra $55 per month. That’s on top of existing data plans for the iPhone. Users will be able to connect their laptops via USB or Bluetooth.
