Devotec Industries has launched a solar powered Bluetooth speaker that will work with your mobile phone or MP3 player – yes no wires. The “Solar Sound” ( seen above ) is the first portable stereo speakers to combine integrated Bluetooth technology with solar powered battery support in the UK. The  Solar Sound speakers have an integrated solar panel for charging in sunny areas, and a 3.5mm connector for use with music sources that do not have Bluetooth (cable supplied).The Solar Sound will work with many phone models, including Nokias, Blackberries and the iPhone (iPhone 3.0 software update).

Following the Cupcake branch, the Android team is baking something new and deliciously named. The Donut branch will be developing many new features in order to compete with rival phones and OSs like the iPhone, BlackBerry, Symbian, and webOS. Despite what many others have said, Donut is not going to be Android 2.0, but much of the development going on in that branch will end up being rolled out in the next firmware update.

Nokia has launched two new phones in India Nokia 6700 and Nokia 6303 Classic. The Nokia 6303 classic is a tri-band EGSM 900/1800/1900 phone. Main features are Series 40 6th Edition developer platform, WebKit Open Source Browser, Nokia Maps, FM RDS Radio, Flash Lite 3.0, Bluetooth 2.0 +EDR and MIDP Java 2.1 with additional Java APIs. This week there is a big conference by the name of Defcom going on in Las Vegas. For those who haven’t heard of it, its a big hacker convention and one of the topics there are talking about is the iPhone. CSR introduced a development kit that enables the rapid time-to-market of Bluetooth-enabled Works with iPhone and Made for iPod certified accessories. The CSR development kit enables accessory developers to take advantage of the streaming music over Bluetooth capability available on Apple’s iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, and second generation iPod touch running iPhone OS 3.0. The development kit is based on CSR’s BlueCore5-Multimedia silicon.

Apple has released iPhone OS 3.1 Beta 3 to the developers, and iPhone OS 3.1 Beta 2 version will expire toady on 29 July . So, if you are using iPhone OS 3.1 Beta 2 version then you must switch to Beta 3 as soon as possible. There are some enhancements and new features are added in iPhone OS 3.1 Beta 3.
