Music game fans hoping to take their plastic instrument playing skills on the road can rest easy. EA Mobile has released the iPhone and iPod Touch version of its console title, Rock Band, the game that allows you and your friends to strum, smash or sing along with your favorite songs. As first revealed last week, this version allows you to use two to four iPhones (of the 3G or 3GS varieties) to play in the same room, via Bluetooth.

Bluetooth Low Energy is a new open standard that the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) is trying to make popular. It’s kind of hard without any chips on the market that support the new standard, but Texas Instruments ( NYSE: TXN ) is looking to fix that with the CC2540. It’s a complete system on chip that measures only 6 mm x 6 mm and offers support for both dual and single mode BT Low Energy. Running on just a watch battery, the CC2540 can be powered for over a year. Expect to see this in devices in 2010.

Daily Mobile has posted some new pictures of Nokia 5230 .  The Nokia 5230 is a S60 5th Edition device with a resistive touch screen and tactile feedback. The device has a 3.2“, bright nHD (640 x 360 pixels and 16:9 aspect ratio) display with homescreen featuring Contacts Bar and media bar. Input methods include full screen QWERTY, alphanumeric keypad and handwrite recognition. Other features include a 2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.0 +EDR, flash Lite 3.0 and MIDP Java 2.1 APIs.

Samsung today announced the launch of Samsung Blue Earth, an environmentally friendly mobile phone with a full touch screen.
