The Ponemon Institute, in partnership with Dell, has published results of a recent study on the link between computer theft and business travel. The Ponemon Institute conducted a survey of 106 American airports and more than 800 business travelers throughout the first half of 2008 in an effort to understand how laptops are stolen or lost, and what could be done to prevent these incidents. Amongst the more surprising figures to come out of the report was the discovery that 12,000 laptops are stolen or lost at airports across the USA every week.
