JP Morgan has good news for Microsoft: Its massive ad campaign for Bing is working just fine. The bad news for Microsoft: For most people, Google is already working just fine. Details from JP Morgan’s (JPM) Imran Khan, who commissioned a survey of search users a month after Bing’s launch: 59.1% of respondents have heard of Microsoft’s (MSFT) new search engine, and 24.9% of them have tried it. And people who tried it, liked it, just like Mikey (if that doesn’t mean anything to you, see video below, from ye olden days).

So, for those of you who don’t know, I’ve been driving a 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier since August of 2001. I loved that car. It is small and cheap, but it ran and ran and ran. Only major issue was that the fuel pump went out while I was on my way to work with Phil Collins, but was under warranty. Recently though, it was starting to show its age. A small coolant leak. Squeaky brakes. Finally the transmission slipped a couple times and it was in need of some good work.

According to the UK’s Telegraph , Microsoft is planning to launch a music streaming service similar to Spotify and Pandora . Like Spotify, they are planning ad supported streaming for free listening, with a premium model without ads. The Telegraph adds that this may help bolster the basically failed Zune player. It’s difficult to know what to think about this, but I’m skeptical they can pull it off.

Microsoft is preparing to launch a music streaming service Peter Bale, executive producer of MSN, Microsoft has announced that it is preparing to launch a music service “similar to Spotify, the application enables you to listen to music for free (with advertising) via streaming and a host of added services subscription fee.“Music is an important area for Microsoft. We are looking to launch a music streaming service so imminent.

Looks to re-enter music streaming and download market Microsoft has confirmed that it plans to launch a new streaming music service at the end of July.
