Gizmodo has the scoop on Microsoft’s new tablet device, currently codenamed “Courier” Looks pretty good. I’ve been wanting a Tablet the size of a 9 inch netbook for a while. My 12 inch Motion is pretty big to just stick in a bag. This “Courier” device features two 7 inch screens. So its footprint folded up should be smaller still, yet with much more screen real estate when you get it out. This is also rumoured to be the project that J Allard has been working on since he left the Zune a while back.

There’s been loose talk of a Zune phone for some time now, and it looks like we’ve finally found out what it might be. According to some scoop from the folks over at Gizmodo , Microsoft’s reported Pink phone is the device at large, and it’ll come in two forms. The two models, which are known as the Turtle and the Pure, look an awful lot like a Palm Pre and a Sidekick respectively. The phones will be made by Sharp, who will share branding with Microsoft.

I am not sure how many of the cliczune readers have been using Windows 7, however some of the new features in the Zune 4.0 software have made the Windows 7 and Zune combination really nice. These features, of course…

Tonight I indulged in a time-honored tradition, ego-surfing–where you google your name. I didn’t google my own name, but the name of this website, “Thriceberg”. We’ve heard rumors in the past that Microsoft was working on a mobile phone under the Project Pink name, but this will be the first time we’re getting some concrete evidence that it really does exist. Based on the provided info, these handsets will be manufactured with the help of Sharp . We don’t know the exact nature of the relationship between Microsoft and Sharp, but as the report suggests, it could have something to do with Danger.

Crystal ball, secret tunnel or loose-lipped mole; we don’t know how Gizmodo are doing it , but hot on the heels of the Microsoft Courier dual-touchscreen tablet leak comes shots of Microsoft’s two upcoming Pink cellphones.  The Microsoft Turtle (the squarish model) and Microsoft Pure (the more traditional handset) are both manufactured by Sharp and will be co-branded, and like the Sidekick – which Sharp also manufactured for Danger – will be targeted at a messaging-friendly youth market.

Microsoft has done its best to keep the Pink phones, Turtle and Pure, a secret, but couldn’t succeed in keeping the spy cameras away from the chick phones. Manufactured by Sharp, earlier produced the Sidekick hardware for Danger that later merged into Microsoft, the Pink phones looks like a reincarnation of Sidekick and possibly will cater the same market as the Sidekick, while attracting younger consumers with their trendy design.

The famous Pink by Microsoft project could ultimately be more than what they told us Windows and the company has in mind seems to present two phones under its brand in the next edition of the CES show in January 2010. Microsoft Pure and Turtle would be the names of those phones that, if true the rumors, they would not leave the market until late next year, when Windows Mobile 7 is ready to be included in these new terminals. And the Zune experience certainly will not lack.

Project Pink is Microsoft’s secret new phone, their first major phone play since the iPhone. Here are the first pictures of Pink phones, Turtle and Pure.   These phones are going to be made by Sharp, who’ll get to share branding with Microsoft. Sharp produced the Sidekick hardware for Danger, who was bought by Microsoft two years ago. Pink will be primarily aimed at the same market as the Sidekick, and the branding and identity for it is highly developed, pointing toward a later stage in the development cycle.

Having a Microsoft-branded device launched on the market doesn’t sound like something incredible, as two leaked images of the supposedly Turtle and Pure phones that should come out of the Pink project have just emerged into the wild on Gizmodo. Rumored for quite some time now, the two handsets are reportedly the fruits of a tight collaboration between Microsoft and Sharp, and are also the result of Danger’s team expertise. If one asked why this particular trio, one would receive a simple answer.

Sidekick hardware designer Sharp will be the company behind the device that Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer lied about on more than one occasion. After stating emphatically that there will be no Microsoft phone, the uber secret ” Pink ” phone leaks online. The two devices are the “Turtle and the ” Pure .” One looks like a stubby overweight Palm Pre while the other a stretched out Palm Pre. Both are said to run Zune services and will have their own MS App Store. This leak is still fresh and obviously a very big deal.

Even though I might only be at level 8 in Aion , it’s pretty safe for me to say that at least for the near future, I can see myself being entertained by the game. In two more levels I finally get out of the starting zone and advance out into the “real” part of the game (including all of the new mechanics that come with that), so we’ll see if that transition is a positive or negative thing for me. Ideally, of course, I love the additions and fall madly in love with the game until the next WoW expansion hits.

Sadly, the Microsoft phones are disappointing when it comes to design, specially since they look like remade Sidekicks, or in the case of Turtle, a chunky Palm Pre.

Since 2007 I have been predicting on here that Electronic Arts (EA) would be bought out . At one stage it looked very much as if Apple were going to be the proud new owners . (And may still be). Now Reuters are reporting rumours that Microsoft will do the buying . Which must be true because they are denying it . The fact is that EA would be very cheap to buy, because they have been making big losses for some time whilst the industry around them booms.

In what is set to be the second generation of Sidekick devices released under Microsoft’s ownership, Gizmodo claims to have renders of Microsoft’s Pure and Turtle handsets. The devices are set to be dumb phones made by Sharp, just like the Sidekicks, and with a youth focus, and similar to the Sidekick will have an online application store. For interesting write-ups… Gizmodo has a great one on the rumored pink phone from Microsoft . From reading the description, it looks as though this is the Microsoft answer to the iPhone. And… it does not appear to be an evolved Zune. Although reading through the comments, it looks as though people are already slamming the design… I tend to think that, if it’s real, it will make some contributions to the market. Although I am as big a Microsoft Skeptic as anyone, I do think that their overall effect on some of their markets is a positive one.

Microsoft has been granted a patent for a new type of DRM that works over p2p-style networks. By using public/private encryption keys, it could be used to reinvigorate p2p as a legitimate source of content. The patent explains, “Partial licenses are combinable to form a formal license that may be utilized to output the content.” With centralized content repositories, like iTunes, increasingly moving away from DRM, is there a place for this technology? Consumers are savvier than they were when the patent was requested in 2003.

Microsoft must be shitting bricks by now, because Gizmodo clearly has be-befriended someone very high up within the company. Yesterday they brought us information about the Courier tablet and now they’ve (temporarily) moved on to two handsets that represent the fruits of labor of Microsoft’s project Pink. If the Turtle and Pure don’t scream high end to you, good job; you’re amongst the most observant people on this planet.

Leaked images of two new phones under Microsoft’s code-named “Pink” project, Turtle and Pure, have been leaked by Gizmodo, following on their recent leak of Microsoft’s “Courier” tablet that was under tight secrecy (until yesterday). The post revealed that the Turtle (what you see above) looks like a fatter and child’s like version of the Palm Pre, while the Pure (image below) has similar design properties to the Sidekick. Both will have QWERTY keyboards that slide down, and has a lot of rounded edges and circular keys.

Gizmodo has published details on Microsoft’s “Courier.” Gizmodo is calling it a “booklet,” but it is basically a tablet with two 7-inch (or so) displays that folds open and closed, like a book. The device uses finger gestures and a stylus (who wants a stylus?), with a focus on writing. The back of the device has a camera while the side has wireless signal and battery indicators. The design of the device, both hardware and software, reminds me a lot of the Zune. Which is a good thing.
