Zune original products that have been made for nearly three years have not really affected the market that much, however, there is great hope for the Zune HD and many think it will be real competition for the iPod Touch . According to a recent report on ComputerWorld, it seems that Microsoft launched its Zune HD in two weeks, to withdraw all other Zune models offer all versions of Zune while supplies last. We recently had a chance to see the PC version of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed: Ultimate Sith Edition in motion. The PC version of the game is being brought over by Aspyr Media, has been in development for a few months, and is in a pre-alpha state, though it should hit beta soon. The PC version of the game will, of course, include support for a USB Xbox 360 controller and will, according to Aspyr and LucasArts, otherwise be a content-faithful port of the console versions of Ultimate Sith Edition.

With PDC 2009 right around the corner, you can probably bet the farm that Windows Mobile 7 will be unveiled there. See, there’s this little thing called software and Samsung’s YP-M1, aka Beat Player M1, still needs some tweaking. It’s not awful, but the performance isn’t even close to being Zune HD-like. Perhaps Samsung’s using a weaker Tegra system-on-chip. We don’t know. We’re told that these are hand-made engineering prototypes so there’s hope that Sammy can work out the kinks before these players go production.

An NVIDIA Tegra chipset pumping away at the heart of a portable media player is no guarantee of success. See, there’s this little thing called software and Samsung’s YP-M1 , aka Beat Player M1, still needs some tweaking. It’s not awful, but the performance isn’t even close to being Zune HD-like . Perhaps Samsung’s using a weaker Tegra system-on-chip . We don’t know. The official Zune Newsletter has announced that we will be seeing a new Zune Software on September 15th, as well as releasing information on how to win a Zune HD and a link to the audiobook ‘High Fidelity’ for free, courtesy of audible.

According to a recent report on ComputerWorld , it seems that Microsoft released its Zune HD in two weeks, they will drop all their other models of the Zune, they do provide all versions Zune while stocks last. The HD Zune will be released September 15 and it seems that Microsoft will also launch updated Zune software and services, including Zune video service on Xbox Live, an exact date for the Xbox Live video service has Zune not yet been announced.

Looking more like a phone than a player, Samsung today unveiled its latest creation – the Samsung M1 player . Sony’s S540 has made a quick transition from being announced to being released. In fact, it was only yesterday that we uncovered Sony’s product demonstration video, an attempt at a video review of sorts. Amazon have made the S540 available on their website and as far as we can tell, the product seems to be shipping now. All three colors of black , red , and violet are shipping in a choice of 8GB or 16GB. The players are currently priced at $109.95 and $129.95 for the 8 and 16GB models respectively.

Looking for a budget streamer?While media streamers are certainly becoming more versatile at the top-end, with support for DRM-encoded content, web access and a wealth of media-management features, there’s clearly still a market for a basic, no-frills device such as the Dane-Elec SO G-Stream. In a similar manner to the excellent Western Digital WDTV, it offers direct access to media stored on external drives or USB devices with a couple of well-received extras thrown into the mix.

As should come as no surprise, Microsoft will have new Zune Desktop software (Zune 4.0?) available for download on September 15th to coincide with the Zune HD launch.
