We have a video for you to check out now, which gives you a sideways look of the interface featured within the Samsung YP-M1 – their upcoming portable media player which along with the Zune HD, is also powered by the Nvidia Tegra chip. As reported from Engadget , the Samsung YP-M1 will feature a 3.3-inch AMOLED touchscreen consisting of 480×272 pixels. The media player will feature a customizable TouchWiz User Interface and will give users plenty of processing power thanks to the Tegra chip.

Microsoft looks to be cutting the Xbox 360’s price down to $249 for the Pro model, and $299 for the Elite model, if a scanned Target ad expected to run next week is any indication. We’ve been expecting the Pro model to actually completely disappear, so we expect the Wii-priced Pro units will be only as supplies last, while the $299 Elite will be the new top-end model.

Recently leaked photos of the Zune HD have shown up on BoyGeniusReport, one of these photos shows a menu item which we were previously un-aware of, this menu item titles “Apps” seems to suggest the Zune HD will have its own “App Store”. The person showing the Zune HD tried to access the Zune HD Apps via WiFi however nothing showed (probably as it is not live). There are also unconfirmed rumors regarding a Zune SDK, which fits in nicely with the possible App Store.

Sony says two lines of Walkman players will ship next month . The S series, which features a 2.4-inch display and offers 42 hours of headphone-style battery life for music playback, and 6.5 hours of video playback, and E series Walkman, which is a bargain basement model with slightly lower battery ratings and a lower price, will have some stiff competition most notably in the Zune HD and iPod , both of which are also scheduled to ship in September.

We are only about three weeks away from the launch of the Zune HD. A lot of people have already written off the Zune because they either have seen a previous version of the unit or maybe feel that nothing can compete with Apple’s line of mp3 players. After all they own 70 per cent of the mp3 player market. I on the other hand really hope that Microsoft comes out with a great product that is accepted by the marketplace.

Microsoft has launched its new Zune HD music and video player with price much lower than iPod devices. The strategy behind it is to claw some market share away from the dominant leader, Apple Inc. The devices, which are available for pre-order would be in the market by September 15. The devices are cool and come with an eye catchy prices: $219.99 for 16GB and $289.99 for 32GB device. In addition, Zune is slimmer than the previously released version and has got a touch screen. The device comes in 5 different colors.

That sounds about right. If they have to approve 8,500 apps with 40 people, they can’t spend too much time on each. I don’t quite get the outrage in this. It’s an average of 6 minutes per app. If you write an app that churns out jokes or acts like a glowstick, the reviewer needs way less than 6 minutes.

It seems as though Microsoft are always playing catch up to Apple. While Bill Gates & Co have always seemed to lead the way when it came to personal computing, they are forever behind in the mobile technology industry, and the iPod consistently outsells the Zune. However is that about to change? There has been much excitement surrounding the new Zune HD multimedia player.
